Chocolate BarsAre you a Chocoholic? You might be interested in applying for this university course – a PhD in Chocolate. The University of the West of England is currently seeking doctoral candidates to take the course.

The university is offering a £15,000-per-year grant to those who will be chosen to study the genetic factors which influence the flavor of everyone’s favorite sweet treat.

Cocoa BeansSuccessful candidates will specifically study how the fermentation of cocoa beans directs to specific flavor profiles. The opening of such a course was actually a response from the chocolate industry demanding for a forensic knowledge of different cocoa strains.

The prospectus covers three years. Interested applicants have until February 27 to submit their intent to the faculty of Health and Applied Sciences in Bristol.
