Monkey Steals Student’s GoPro
Hoping to get some secretive video of monkeys, California student, Cole Weber, put his GoPro in a tree to set the stage for a smart primate to steal it and possibly use it. The mischievous little monkeys were hanging out in Manuel Antonia National Park in Costa Rica, when they discovered the camera.
This is what Cole had to say about the incident: “When I saw him take the GoPro, my immediate fear was that he would go deeper into the forest and I wouldn’t be able to get it back.”
“I could kind of see him from where I was, and after the monkeys realized it didn’t taste any good, they got tired of it and dropped it. I was about to go get it – when another monkey came and picked it up, and took it back up into the trees. He didn’t keep it for very long as he dropped it after inspected it.”
“I had my phone connected to the GoPro’s wifi – so I was watching the footage live from my phone. As soon as I showed everyone the footage, most of them were amazed and thought it was awesome. Everyone’s commented on how lucky I was to have had it recording.”
