It’s common for people to judge the reboot of a movie before its release because a.) they are a fan of the original and they think nothing can be better or b.) they are just dedicated detractors to every remake. While we respect other people’s opinions, it’s better to wait until you see the movie before attempting to stunt the movie’s chances for success.
In a theater near you is the all girl group of Ghostbusters featured in the 2016 version directed by Paul Feig. Yep! The new gang is comprised of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. Obviously, this movie is not a recreation of the original characters, which starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Instead, these female ghost fighters form a new team that defend a skeptical New York against even more vile evil spirits.
Compared to the original, the new movie includes more ghostly visuals and flaunts improved special effects which help make the movie more legitimately spooky. Unexpectedly, the breakout star in the film is Kate Mckinnon. This funny lady is a force to be reckoned with. She dominates many scenes with her hilarious reactions and humor.
While the trailer seems a bit confusing, (even gaining a 931k thumbs down vs 265k thumbs up), the actual movie has received warmer reviews and toy sales have exceeded projections.
